Avondale North c1940's
Avondale Northside

Taken from the Long Bridge in Avondale towards the North Side
with Maurice Kennedy’s house at the end of the Long Bridge
on the right and his shed’s on the left side of the road where
he kept his cattle. Not shown in this picture is Maurice’s
slaughter house which was back a ways from his sheds on the
same side of the road, but will be mentioned in another picture.
The next large white house on the right had side of the road
belonged to the Flynn Family. They also owned the General Store
there for years and years. Today the house is still lived in by the
widow of Cyril Flynn and the store is still ran by the son Harold.
The white house on the left further on from the sheds belonged to
Karen Kennedy and is still lived into today by Catherine Mason, widow
of John (Jack) Mason and the family. Catherine Mason is my aunt.
