Cst Michael J. Laurie - Horse Cove

Photo of Cst. Michael J. Laurie, first RCMP Officer
(Regimental #19956) from Horse Cove (later: St Thomas),
Newfoundland, following Confederation in 1949. Michael
served earlier in France with the Royal Canadian Air Force
as part of NATO forces in 1955-56, at which time his
Air Force Regimental Number was 201288 with the
rank of Leading Air Craftsman, upon the end
of his three-year enlistment in it.

Michael was the first RCMP Officer from Horse Cove.
