Seaman's Memorial in Grand Bank

Grand Bank

The Seaman's Memorial that was unvieled in Grand Bank
on August 8, 2007.  It is a bronze statute of a woman
looking out to sea. It is a statute of a woman because
when the men were lost at sea, it was always the
mothers, wives and daughters left behind to
pick up the pieces and move on.

The names of the men who were lost at sea are on
indiviual plaques underneath the water. The
memorial is located on the grounds of
Harris House, which is owned by the
Grand Bank Heritage Society.

If anyone can supply the name and other information
inscribed on the underwater plaques,
please contact us at NGB, so that
we can include it here.
