Burin District

Burin This is a picture of my great grandfather Amos Mitchell, the son of Amos and Mary. He was born 1873 in Mud Cove (aka Wandsworth) in the Burin district. As part of the Canadian re-settlement, he moved to Burin in 1958 at the age of 86, when this photo was taken. The house in Wandsworth was torn down (not floated). The foundation still remains today. It had a full basement. Contributed by Shelly Buma (2006 09)
