John Cabot Monument - Italy

Gaeta, Italy

Monument in Gaeta to "Giovanni Caboto, Navigator, Discoverer of Canada 1497".
Gaeta (located halfway between Rome and Naples) is the birthplace of Cabot.
But, he sailed out of the port of Genoa. Ultimately, his vogages would
result in his making landfall at Bonavista, Newfoundland.

Additionally, in the city of Rome, there is a "University of John Cabot",
not spelled Giovanni Caboto, as one would expect, but John Cabot.
