Maria Louisa Hancock

Little Harbour
c1875

My great grandmother Maria Louisa Hancock from
Little Harbour, daughter of James Hancock. She lived
on the Island (near Little Harbour) where all Maria's
brothers and sisters were born . The only time they
went to the mainland was to go to Smokey Hole...
here mail would come once a week.

Maria Louisa was a centre of the family network.
She found many jobs for her relatives,
both Pike and Hancock in Boston.
They would travel back and forth.
