James Hancock

Little Harbour

My great great grandfather James Mark Hancock from
Little Harbour, father of Maria Louisa Hancock, and
husband of Maria Ash Pike. James was given "the Island"
(near Little Hr.) by King George as long as "someone
named Hancock kept a light there" for boats. I think
they were loyalists moving up from the colonies.
They moved to east Boston in 1874.
