This is a picture of the original lighthouse built in 1873 and it appears that the Oakley's
were the first lighthouse keepers; the lightkeeper at the time of this picture was
Arthur Frederick Oakley; Mildred Oakley Cann was his daughter,
born 1908 in St. John's; she relocated to Boston and died in
Stoneham, MA; verifiable dates from St. Stephen's Church,
Greenspond; older dates provided by Mildred Oakley;

born Aug 26, 1870, died May 6, 1903, Greenspond

Helen (Ellen) Blackwood Oakley, wife of Frederick William Oakley,
born Mar 4, 1839, died July 20, 1919, Greenspond
married January 16, 1868

Frederick William Oakley, born March 4, 1840 of Robert & Ann Oakley,
died Nov 30, 1906, Greenspond

Arthur Frederick Oakley, father of Mildred Oakley Cann, born May 5, 1873 Brideshead,
Greenspond, died Dec 12, 1925 St. John's, married June 23, 1896 to
Priscilla Ann Hennebury Dawe, dau of Samuel and Eliza Ann Dawe

Priscilla Ann Hennebury Dawe Oakley, mother of Mildred Oakley Cann
born Aug 22, 1872, Greenspond, died June 29, 1918, St John's

Ellen Crummey, first cousin of Arthur Frederick Oakley daughter of John Thorne
and Louisa Oakley born Dec 7, 1873, Greenspond
married to Edward J. Crummey of Western Bay.
