Fox Roost

George Meade (1864-1936). met and married
Sarah Jane Payne of Ramea and settled down
to raise their family in Fox Roost. Their children
were Sarah Jane b.1888, Maude b.1885,
Ernest John b.1891, Annabelle b.1894,
Albert George b.1895, and Elsie b.1901.

George Meade's wife, Sarah Jane Payne, was sister
to Lucy Maude Payne, who was 16 years younger
than Sarah Jane, and Lucy Maude Payne also married
a Fox Roost man, George Augustus Walters, and raised
raised a family there. Between the two sisters, they are
the ancestors of most, if not all, the Meades and
Walters that came out of Fox Roost/Margaree.
