St. John the Baptist Anglican Churchyard Cemetery

This cemetery is located in dowtown St. John's, on Church Hill, next to the Anglican Cathedral.
It is one of the oldest cemeteries in the City and is believed to contain at least 5,500 graves.
There are only a few headstones left standing. Many of the older markers were
probably wooden and could have been destroyed in one of several fires
that swept through St. John's over the years, not the least
of which was the great fire of 1892.
