Headstone transcriptions from Thoroughfare United Church graveyard, Random Island, Newfoundland. Thoroughfare is now uninhabited (since the early1960s). The graveyard is quite overgrown and many headstones are toppled. Several tombstones are made of slate, possibly mined from the quarry on the north side of Smith Sound. There are lots of graves in the graveyard without headstones or with plain wooden crosses containing no markings.

4)	MILLS	James		March 17, 1894,	16 years.	Drowned    Note: Nathaniel, Anne and James share the same tombstone - son of Nathaniel and Anne Mills
5)	MILLS	Bertie		Sept. 16, 1896,	3 years & 4 months.	son of John and Sophie Mills
6)	MILLS	Sophie		July 23, 1944,	76 years.	wife of John Mills,
7)	LEONARD	Thomas	April 25, 1879;	May 26, 1901.	aged 22 years & 1 Month
8)	MILLS	Caroline		June 2, 1899,	19 years.	daughter of Nathaniel and Elizabeth Mills
9)	MILLS	Philip		May 9, 1934,	46 years.
