* NOTE:
Methodist cemetery at Lower Island Cove was "restored" about 20-25 yrs ago, and wrong dates were painted on top of the headstone for the following person: Here is the correct information, taken by myself and by others before that lettering was repainted: MARY LEWIS age 18 years, 1 month, and 13 days, died 12 December 1809 That year has been changed in error when the headstone lettering was repainted, to "1899". This is wrong. She was nee MARY COOPER and married MOSES LOUIS, this marriage is known by the Louis family as there is no surviving marriage record. Moses and Mary had a son John Cooper Louis born Dec 8 1809, just 4 days before his mother died. ( Jill Marshall)
