TRANSCRIBER'S NOTES

1. Absolom was the son of William and Ann (Noseworthy) Sheppard of Harbour Grace. He was baptised at St. Paul’s CofE, Harbour Grace on 3 March 1827. It gives his birth as 1820 which does not fit with the age on the headstone 2. Catherine was the daughter of Henry and Bridget (Whelan) Smith of Spaniards Bay. She was baptised at Immaculate Conception RC, Harbour Grace in 1819 3. Absolom and Catherine married on 10 June 1846 at Cat Harbour (now Lumsden). The marriage is registered in the CofE register in Greenspond.
