Old Ladle Cove

Goodyear Plot
Overall View
Of the Goodyear Plot

This is all that remains of the Goodyear Anglican Cemetery on the point in Ladle Cove, Fogo District.

Everett Wellon related the following information to me about this grave site one evening in August, 2001 as we sat in the old Wellon house in Ladle Cove:

"Out there on the point, that family is Church of England... Josiah Goodyear, that’s Leonard’s father, and Winsor Goodyear's father, and his mother and sister are buried there."

Information from Leonard Tulk 2005

Albert Goodyear is buried in the Anglican Cemetery, Ladle Cove, as are 2 of his children. One child's name may be Lillie (Lilly); the second child's name is unknown. Relatives say Lillie (Lilly) may have drowned.

Leonard Goodyear (Son of Albert Goodyear) is buried in the new United Church Cemetery, Ladle Cove.

Winsor Goodyear ( Son of Albert Goodyear) is buried in Grand Falls.
