[I checked this headstone in July of 2000 and the entire face of the stone has peeled off and stone is now virtually unreadable]

[This is a large flat stone lying on the ground and is reputed to be the stone of Joseph Brown who was responsible for the building a old Anglican Church in Bonavista around 1819. Joseph Brown died in 1819 Nothing else is readable on this stone.]
