This may be another "Lost Cemetery" located in the Bay of Islands. Anyone wishing to submit burial information or family members known to be in this cemetery please contact one us. Folklore tells us that this cemetery at Petries Point was once the burial grounds for those people who Prosper Companion buried. There may be in upwards of fifty graves at this spot. The land is now owned by Imperial Oil and is no longer used as a cemetery. The only headstone still standing is that of Joseph Brake and his wife Mary Brake:
who died Aug. 1, 1850 age 39 years. Also his wife Mary died 25 July 1850 age 32 years.
