ARRANGEMENT OF CENSUS
INFORMATION ON THE SITE:

This Provincial census has been arranged to agree with the original pages of the 1921 census. The Districts and Communities are the same Districts and Communities as written on the original pages.

ACCURACY OF POSTED MATERIAL:

Since starting to verify the information, we have found that these pages are old and very difficult to read. They have been read, transcribed, and then verified by a second person before being set up and posted on the site. With the state of the handwriting and the condition of the pages, there most certainly, will still be errors to be found in the posted material. Each District will be indicated when a verification has been completed. This verification is only to check to see that the information has been correctly transcribed, not to verify if the enumerator mispelled names or entered incorrect dates of events. It also will not check if communities have been correctly identifed or grouped incorrectly. Errors of this type will be a future project. We would especially be interested in hearing from people who are familiar with the names found in these communities and their spellings at the time of the census. This way, additional information can be added to clarify difficult to read entries.

SITE POLICY FOR POSTING MATERIAL ON THE SITE:

Our policy on the site is to post Census information, as nearly as possible to the entry on the original page, without any editing or changes. Names in communities will not be alphabetized or rearranged in any way, so that the order of the houses and families on each street will not be lost. Names will be posted in the same order and spelled as originally written.

HOW TO UPDATE AND INCLUDE ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

To provide an opportunity for additional or corrected information to be added to the census, we have set up an "Errata Area" on each page so that this information can be included and made available to researchers.

The key to our efforts is to provide you, the researcher, with a historical document that accurately reproduces the original document without any editing or changes to the original handwritten information.

Please feel free to send your questions, suggestions, substantiated corrections or additional information to us, using the "Contact" button at the bottom of any page.
