James Tuigan? *1 | I initially transcribed this surname as Frugard, but I couldn't find any other references to match that spelling. On closer inspection, it looks like it could be spelled Tuigan. Although Tuigan doesn't appear as a valid Irish surname - based on various Irish reference books, I suspect, if spelled thus, it could be an incorrect rendering of the Irish surname Duigan??. | Kevin Reddigan Dec. 4, 2012 |

NAME | DESCRIPTION OF ERROR | REPORTED BY |
Capt. Neck *1 | In my initial transcription I gave this individual's name as Capt. Steck?. However, on closer inspection I believe the surname was actually spelled Neck. In the 1800 Fishery listing for Cape Broyle, this same individual is identified as William Neck, Master of Christopher Vallance's schooner Speedwell. | Kevin Reddigan Dec. 4, 2012 |
John Lenine, etc. *2 | In later years, the spelling of this surname evolved into Denine, although some members of the family still used the Lenine surname. | Kevin Reddigan Oct. 18, 2015 |
