James Tuigan? *1 I initially transcribed this surname as Frugard, but I couldn't find any other references to match that spelling. On closer inspection, it looks like it could be spelled Tuigan. Although Tuigan doesn't appear as a valid Irish surname - based on various Irish reference books, I suspect, if spelled thus, it could be an incorrect rendering of the Irish surname Duigan??. NAMEDESCRIPTION OF ERRORREPORTED BY
Capt. Neck *1 In my initial transcription I gave this individual's name as Capt. Steck?. However, on closer inspection I believe the surname was actually spelled Neck. In the 1800 Fishery listing for Cape Broyle, this same individual is identified as William Neck, Master of Christopher Vallance's schooner Speedwell. Kevin Reddigan

John Lenine, etc. *2 In later years, the spelling of this surname evolved into Denine, although some members of the family still used the Lenine surname. Kevin Reddigan
