Ode to My Ancestors

There is a common bond. I find amongst us all, The need to let our ancestors Know just, what they taught us all. Right from wrong Good from bad, The kindness and cruelty The happy and sad. We are the ones Who make their memories live, Pass on to our generations With the hopes that they give. The beauty of love The warmth of sharing, Almost forgotten, And sometimes overbearing.
