Reverend Doctor John Clinch

 

A number of articles have been written about the contributions of Rev. Dr. John Clinch to the medical and spiritual needs of Newfoundland. Here are two of these articles. The authors are thanked for permission to reprint these articles for your use.

This article was first published in the Canadian Medical Journal and later serialized in The Fisherman's Advocate, a weekly newspaper published at Port Union, Newfoundland, over three issues, August 28, September 4 & 11, 1970. The author, John W. Davies, M.D., had practiced medicine in the Trinity area in the 1950s. At the time of publication of this article, in commemoration of the contribution John Clinch made to medical science, Dr. Davies was Chief of the Epidemiology Division, with the Federal Department of National Health and Welfare, Ottawa.

This article was published in the author's column The Old World Connection in The Downhomer, December, 2000 issue. This magazine is published in St. John's, NF.
