The Jim Butler Home Page
- This Butler family has it's "Old World" roots in the village of Iford, Hants., England, (near Christchurch in present-day Dorset). The first
son of John Butler and Mary Sanders, James Butler, was born in 1785.
Sometime in the early 1800s, he immigrated to Newfoundland and
eventually settled in the Trinity area. The records of St. Paul's
Anglican Church, Trintiy, NF, show the marriage of James Butler, Iford,
Hants., England, and Mary Bannister, Trinity, Newfoundland, in 1809.
Trace the descendants of James and Mary, and the families that
intermarried with this one, at this site.
