Dear L.M.

I have some information on this family. Unfortunately I can't find a baptism for Elsie
Manuel, and don't know if she belonged to the Exploits or the Twillingate Manuels
George Carter and his second wife, IDA CALLAHAN, were at PETERS ARM in 1921.
By 1935, Ida was widowed and living with her children along at Peters Arm.
Here are 2 census extracts, and George's 2 marriages:

Elsie Manuel, 17, spin, Meth, Pilleys Island. At Pilleys Isl by

From civil reg.

Jan 31 1914 George CARTER, 32, wid, fish, Meth, Campbellton &
Ida CALLAHAN, 20, spin, Meth, Camp. At Camp by B ?Mallaben.
WIT: Mark Snow, Agnes Alcock. CIVIL RECORDS

Ida was the dau of Moses Callahan & Harriet Boone: here is her

Hi again;

George Carter & Ida Callahan Carter are buried at Botwood United church Cemetery
If you would like to see the transcription yourself, go to Nfld Gen Web, Notre Dame
bay district, choose Exploits subdistrict, scroll down to Cemeteries, and click on
Botwood UC. You will see the following:

CARTER George 1882 1933 age 51

CARTER Ida E. 1893 1976 age 83

I cannot find any burial record online for Elsie, and she does not show up on the Stonepics
It is possible she does not have a headstone, however somewhere there should be a
church burial record.

Hi Jill

My name is Brian Janes and my great great grandmother was Harriet Boone, wife of Moses Callahan.

Im looking for any information concerning Harriets' ancestry. I have several photos of her and she appears to be very much of Indian ancestry or even Innut. Would you have any info regarding this?

Also Harriet's father was Nathaniel Boone who was married to a woman named Elizabeth. I have been trying to find her maiden name as well.

You can email me directly at janeswbat1@rogers.com

Brian.
