I'm so happy you've created this site. I've been researching my HEAD roots for about 10 years now and have been successful in finding some long lost family. My roots started from either Devon or Dorset County, England. My gggr grandparents were William HEAD and Ann WELLS making their home at Joe Batt's Arm...having 5 children - one being my gr gr grandfather John HEAD who married Elizabeth Jane WATKINS d/o James WATKINS and Anna Unk. John and Elizabeth had 11 children - one being my gr grandfather John HEAD who married Mary Elizabeth CANNING/CANNINGS. Mary being the daughter of Charles CANNINGS and Sarah Jane WHITE (have no parents for her). John and Mary had 4 children...one being my grandfather, Stanley HEAD who married Fanny Matilda HICKS d/o Thomas HICKS and Lydia Jane MANUEL. Stanley and Fanny lived at Comfort Cove. I'm researching many other NDB names. Any one with any information please contact me

Do you have any info on a Henry Head born Joe Batts Arm c1794 married Anastasia Emberley abt 1816 had daughters Bridget abt 1817 & Honora.

Hi
One of my great grandmother;s was Bridget Head (b1869 in Tilt Cove, Newfoundland and d sometime in the 1920s in St. Augustine`s, Newfoundland). Her parents were James Head who was born in Joe Batt;s Arm and married Kitty (Katherine) Hackett of Joe Batt`s Arm July 20, 1856. I can`t seem to trace James Head back any further and was just wondering if there were any connections. Thanks!

Wondering if anyone knows of a connection between the Protestant HEAD family and the Roman Catholic families of Joe Batts Arm ?
I can trace my Protestant HEAD family back to John Head who had children baptized in 1821.

Hi there,
Would you happen to have a William HEAD (born abt 1885 in Brownsdale) who married a Louisa SOPER (born abt 1890 in Hant's Harbour)? William and Louisa had several children and moved permanently to Cape Breton in 1921 to work in the mines. William was my gr-gr-grandfather and I am trying to find out who his parents were and if he had any siblings.

Anyone hear about a George Head born 1838 or his wife Mary Pittman born about 1843. He was probably from Joe Batts Arm/Twillingate area. Unknown where Mary Pittman came from but assume it could be White Bay, quite possibly Sop's Island.
I am wondering if George Head could be the son of William Head and Ann Wells. Thanks.
