Almost all of the other Whelan families in Harbor Main seem to be in Colliers, with a couple in Harbor Grace Junctn, Cats Cove & Holyrood. I’m curious about the connection to Riverhead…there was a John Thomas Whelan b.Span Bay who married widow Agnes Byrne Ryan on May 29,1912 (1935 census Tilton),her sister Josephine married Wm Leary on Jun 22,1909 & Michael Whelan was a witness, Henry Byrne + Alice Whelan (1871-1953) stood for Alice Byrne+ George Gallagher Feb 4,1892 then married Nov 28,1893 with James Whelan & Alice Gallagher witnesses…Alice’s sister Bridget m.
