Hi I am a new member , my name is Rab Froude and I am looking for any information about my dads family I can find . My fathers name is Yves Marie Froude he was born in Lamaline in October 1919 , I would be thankful for any information anyone can supply .

In the 1921 census for Allan's Island (Lamaline) is the following information. The census taker may not have heard or spelled the names correctly but it may be your family.

Eve (Yves?) Fruid b Oct 1886, France; 34 yrs old Head of Household
Mary b April 1883, Allan's Island, 38 yrs old Wife

James b Feb. 1908 , Mick's Cove, 13 yrs old
Theresa b Jan. 1910, Point Crewe, 11 yrs old
Mary b Oct 1911, Point Crewe, 9 yrs old
Sarah b April 1914, Point Crewe, 7 yrs old
Eve (Yves?) b Oct. 1920, Allan's Island, 1 yr old *
Germanie b April 1921, Allan's Island, 5 months old

* The correct birthdate for Yves junior may be 1919 as you suggested in your post and not 1920 as recorded by the census taker. It is improbable that there is only 6 months between the births of Yves and Germanie.

Hi thanks for the info which ties in with some I already have , the younger Yves was my father born 1919 and passed away in Edinburgh Scotland in 2005 , I will keep searching and see where it takes me . Thanks again . Rab
