Hi all,

I am looking for some assistance in sorting out the different Barnes families who attended the Congregationalist Church in St. John's. In particular I am looking for a family that had a daughter Caroline (b. abt 1820/1 in St John's). Apparently she was born during a period in which there was not a permanent minister and so records were not kept. I am thinking that she may be a sister or cousin of Silas Barnes as she called one of her sons Silas Barnes. Caroline married William Frederick Smallwood, a shipwright, of PEI abt. 1840 (and yes one of his brothers was the ancestor of that Smallwood, and another of their sons was a Joseph).

If anyone can help me sort out Caroline's parentage, I would be most appreciative.
