Continuing my quest...
Does anyone have anything on the ancestry of a Jane KING b. abt. 1786 Broad Cove who married Alexander GILLASPIE on November 15, 1808 at Harbour Grace Anglican....
They were the parents of my 3rd great-grandmother Anne Marie Gillespie b. January 5, 1821 Harbour Grace, baptized January 13, 1822 Blackhead Methodist...
Anne Marie married Samuel PINSENT b. 1820 Ochre Pit Cove , s/o Henry Pinsent on September 13, 1843 at Greenspond...
Jane might be the daughter of William KING / Elizabeth KNIGHT?
I just found Anne Marie Gillespie's birth record yesterday...I had completely missed it before, because I was only looking at Harbour Grace, and she was baptized at Blackhead..One of the only Harbour Grace people to be baptized there...
And I also have no idea on Alexander's ancestors...He may be the brother (much older brother) or nephew of a Samuel Gillespie b. 1805 Carbonear who married Sarah Mary Ash and Susannah Clarke and had 17 children...
Alexander buried April 30, 1834 Harbour Grace, Anglican - no age given
Jane buried March 2, 1828 Harbour Grace Anglican, age 42

Hi,
Here is what I have on Jane King. She was born 1786 (from death records) to possibly William King & Elizabeth ? She married Alexander who was born Oct.28, 1781 to Samuel Gillespie and Joanne L'air (or Cavenot). I have William Gillespie, also born to Samuel & Joanne, in 1794 and baptised Sept. 1798 @ 4 years. He married Mary King on Nov.27,1820 and had a son Samuel, Bp:1821.
Alexander & Jane had a daughter Anne Maria who married Samuel Pinsent.
Annie & Samuel had a son Tobias who married Mary Ann Blundon.
They had a son John Samuel who married Anne Theodora (Dora) Goodyear.
They had a daughter Louise who married Harry Whalen, who are my inlaws.

Do you have any further back on Samuel Gillespie or Joanne L'air???
And do you know where the Samuel b. 1805 Carbonear who had 17 children fits in?
How did you find all this stuff????I have been completely blocked on the Gillespies....
And what siblings did Anne Marie have?
and who did they marry?
And who did Samuel b. 1821 marry?
and where was Mary King who married William Gillespie from? Is she related to Jane who married Alexander?....
As for Mary Ann Blundon - I have her parents somewhere buried deep in my records..not sure where now..

Mary Ann Blundon's parents are John Blundon (1818-1902) and Eliza Jane unknown (1827-1891) - died at Indian Islands...

-Harbour Grace Anglican marriages
14 Sep 1798 William son Samuel & Joanna Gillipsie 4 yr Carbonear
-Harbour Grace Anglican baptisms
-looks like Samuel Gillespie married first an Ann Le'air and had Alexander b. 1781 and then married a Joanna Cavenot in 1789 with a son William baptized 1798 (born 1794)
or are Le'Air and Cavenot the same person?
-and Le'Air sounds French???

Ok, this is how I think it goes now:
Ann Le'Air never married Samuel Gillespie, but had a child - Alexander with him, born 1781, ..Anne then married Edward Kelly in 1785 and Samuel married Joanna Cavenot in 1789 and Samuel and Joanna had a son William, born 1794, baptized 1798...
and the William b. 1794 married Mary King in 1820 and had:
a Samuel baptized 1821 -RC
Jun 3,1821 Samuel to Wm. GELASBY & Mary KING
Roby. HARDING & Ann KENNEDY
another one baptized 1829 - RC
Feb 4,1829 Samuel to William GLASBY & Mary KING
Florence McCARTHY & Julia KENNEDY
And a Jane baptized 1829 - RC
Feb 4,1829 Jane to William GLASBY & Mary KING
Nicholas WHELAN & Elizabeth KENNEDY
And Joanna bap. 1831
Aug 7,1831 Joanna to William GLASBY & Mary KING
Lawrence EVOY & Julia BRANSFIELD
and the William b. 1805 who married Sarah Mary Ash and Susannah Clarke must still fit in somewhere.

Ann Le'Air also had a child with John Smalcomb - John Smalcomb Jr. b. 1777
and Ann Le'Air and Edward Kelly's daughter Bridget married James Morey at St. John's in 1803

William Jr. King (born 1750s?), son of William Sr. King of Broad Cove b. 1732 Woodbridge, Devon, s/o John King / Sarah Lee
William Sr. King married first??
married second Elizabeth Hawking on February 19, 1764 at St. Saviour, Dartmouth, Devon
William King / Elizabeth Hawking had Jane King who married William Penney at Harbour Grace Anglican in 1782
