Hi,trying to unravel a family mystery,my gt grandparents were Otto and Gertrude Abbott from Sandy Point,since doing the family tree ive found Ottos headstone and death details but have been unable to find out what happened to his wife Gertrude,she is not buried with him.Gertrude was born at Sandy Point in 1889 the daughter of John Henry Renouf and Elizabeth Martha Morris.My grandad her son came over to the UK during ww2 and told us he and his brother were orphans.We assumed Otto and Gertrude must have died at the same time,1920 was when Otto died and my grandad was orphaned,we have since found Gertrude on passenger lists travelling to Nova Scotia in 1925 and 1926 she was deported for being mentally defective,the last record we have is for her in the asylum in St Johns she was diagnosed as having dementia praecox,premature dementia,but was released as she was recovered.I have been told she died in the asylum,but cant find out any more,anybody got any ideas?Jill Biddle ne Abbott
