In 1999 while in St. John's I found the Baptisms for the 1840 decade recorded for the Congregational Church. Now unable to return to St. John's it would be deeply appreciated if someone could kindly direct me to a way of accessing them again. Among the folk were Sarah Grace Finlay x 4/7/1848, George Stewart Caldwell x 19/6/1842 and Zebulon Aiton Lash x 21/10/1846. There were others too. Are the records available in the Salt Lake L.D.S. Library which is to be visited in Julyof this year. Are there films which have been produced? Also looking for the marriage of the Cartographer and Hydrographer, Samuel Foss Dessiou who married a Grace in St. John's on the 23 August, 1791 according to British Admiralty Records. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Other families connected are Goodridge, Haddon, Fannon and others. Most willing to contribute to others with interest in the above families which have been researched in Australia, Canada, New Zealand and England.
