Four of my gt gt grandmother's brothers went to Newfoundland Daniel Currie lived in St Johns and died there in 1894 Two other brothers Pierce and David lived in Britannia Cove on Random Island. They had a slate quarry at first during the mid eighteen hundreds. The fourth brother John went to live in Boston. Any info welcome. |

John Currie born Wales 1823 died 1882 Cambridge Mass. listed as a Slater of stone. David Currie born Wales 1834 died 1806 Trinity Newfoundland listed as Merchant Daniel Currie born Wales 1845 died 1894 St. Johns Newfoundland listed as Shipping Register Pierce Currie born Wales 1833 died 1909 Trinity Newfoundland listed as Quarryman of stone. You can find Pierce Currie's will on this site. Lots of info. |
