Newfoundland's Grand Banks Message Board

In doing family research I discovered that the Basilica baptisimal records for 1841 and 1843 are missing. The church archivist confirmed that the original records have gone missing and that the research centers obviously couldn't make copies. Of course I've traced my family back to the point where my gg grandfather would have been born and can find no record of his birth despite being 99% sure who his parents were as he was born during this missing period. Anyone out there have any idea where the records or copies may be hiding?
