Post subject:  Hogan & Woodford Families of Carbonear

My great grandmother, Abbie Hogan married Philip Woodford Feb. 8, 1891. She died in Carbonear on Nov. 23, 1913. I would appreciate any information on Abbie's parents and her place of birth.

Also, Abbie's husband, Philip E. Woodford died in Carbonear on Sept. 1, 1940. I am seeking information on his parents and place of birth.

Both are interned at Saint Patrick's Roman Catholic Cemetery, Carbonear.

Dear Chris,

Abbie was 55 years old when she died and Philip was 83 years old when he died. In their death records, they are both listed as having been born in Carbonear. The pre-1859 Roman Catholic baptism records are currently not online, but are available at The Rooms in St. John's. It is also stated that pre-1849 baptisms were recorded at Harbour Grace. I hope this information helps in furthering your family history research.

Yours in genealogy,
Mark
