Hi Everyone, So glad I found this site. I am looking for information on my great great grandfather Joseph Skelton (b.1812) and his first wife Johannah Jackman (b.1818). Until recently it was believed that they came from England to Ontario but apparently not. I found a record of marriage for them in "Holy Apostles Parish Renews RC Marriage Records"-Nov. 16 1838. Joseph was a blacksmith, presumably in the Ferryland District. They had 9 children, of which I think only 5 survived. William1840, Joseph 1841, Sarah 1843, John 1845, Henry Edwin 1847, George 1849, James 1851, Elizabeth 1853, and Mary Ann 1855,. Apparently Joseph and Johannah and 5 of the children immagrated to Upper Canada in 1857. Johannah must have died shortly after because Joseph remarried (Ruth Moore) and they had their first child in 1860 (Isaac) then 6 more. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thank You readers
