The estate file for William Thorne is dated 15 November 1833. It does not provide much information. William was a mariner and his wife's name was Mary Ann. |

Edward; Thank you for your reply. I was hoping that I could maybe make a connection between William and my Great Great Grandfather John Thorne born abt 1804 . I was thinking that the closeness to Hr Grace they may be related. He,John, was married to Ann Willar in 1831 at Lower Island Cove, but being the only Thorne in the area it is unknown where he was born, but I would think that he came there from some place else. I have ruled out the Thorne's ( Thornton) of New Harbour through DNA testing. I haven't ruled out the Torbay Thornes, I have posted to see if any has dna testing on the Familytree site but no response to date. John however was a protestant and William was married RC Hr Grace. I was hoping the estate or will would have given names and locations etc. Thanks Len |
