This is a long shot as I have a popular surname and little information to go on. Looking for JOHN DAVID YOUNG, born 23 July 1884 Newfoundland, s/o William Young & Laura UNK OR Fred Young & Marcy Smith. First set of parents names were on his Marriage Record (John David Young married 2 Mar 1914 Sydney Mines, Nova Scotia to Catherine (Kate) MacLean). Second set of parents names were on his Death Certificate (John David Young died February 1947 Clyde Avenue, Sydney Mines, Nova Scotia). On his marriage certificate, David's age is given as 26, putting his birth in 1888. His occupation is given as Miner and his religion as Church of England. Kate was 21, born Low Point, Cape Breton, RC, d/o Lauchie & Jane McLean, Carpenter. John David & Kate had a son, David Young. I do not have a location in Newfoundland for the Young family so I am simply hoping that these names might ring a bell with someone here. Just located John David's WWI Attestation Papers which state that he was born in Belle Isle, NFLD. A big help if it is true. |
