My second great-grandmother was Harriet Baggs from Blackhead. Born 1852 ; Died 1917. We have been unable to find anything about her parents through this research. My great Aunt, Sr. Patricia King did a lot of the family research many years ago the old fashioned way, but met a dead end with Harriet's line. Sr. Patricia's sister, Helen erected a monument in the Blackhead cemetery for Harriet. I don't know why one was not in place before that. We do know that she married John (Jack) King in 1881 in Corpus Christi Parish. It was his second marriage. Harriet was not Catholic, but converted when they married. There was some discussion about whether her name was Henrietta but it got shorted/changed to Harriet over the years. Apparently, she was also linked to the Legrow's in Blackhead. Does anyone have any information about her parents or where she came from? |
