Hello all... I'm new to the site and am loving it! I'm reaching out to find any descendants of my great grandparents who might still be in Newfoundland. My grandfather was John Bertrand Gillis, born 1906 in Grand River South (?). His parents, Dougald and Margaret (MacDonald) Gillis had 12 children: Dan, Kate, Laura, Rita, James, Mary, Isabella, Clara, Margaret, Ronald, Dugald, and Martina, all born between 1899 and 1921. I'm in the Boston area, and I know that a few of those siblings moved to Massachusetts in the first half of the 20th century, but I'd love to find where the others might be - hopefully, some are still in Newfoundland. I'll be heading to Newfoundland next month to explore, so would love to be able to track down some leads on second or third or fourth cousins! Thanks for any guidance you can offer. |
