Born to William House in Devonshire, England. Immigrated (year unknown) to NL and married Sarah Payne (1819-1856) of Cow Head, St. Barbe, NL. Looking for any info on Levi and his father William.

I believe it was William Levi House and he was christened 24 Dec 1820 Symondsbury, Dorset, England - Father George House, mother Rose from England & Wales Christening Records, 1530-1906 on Ancestry.co.uk

in the late 1800's there were 4 or 5 House families living in northwest arm, nl. i wonder if there is any connection? what peaked my interest is that there was a land grant to a george pearce also in the late 1800's. was there a connection between the House and Pearce family? i am doing some history of northwest arm and would be interested to find a connection.

There were two families of Houses that came to the west coast of newfoundland.
The first was Henry House from Dewlish, Dorset. He settled in Daniel's Harbour.
The second was William Levi House. William and Sarah Payne are buried in Daniel's Harbour. I am descendent from both. My paternal Grandfather, a pearce, married a Henry House granddaughter, and my mother is a descendent from Levi House.

House is a very common surname in that part of the Island, but the descendents came from either Henry or Levi house.

According to my notes, Anglican Church records in Woody Point, NL gives Levi's father as William, not George. Have you seen these Woody Point records? It was a few years ago since I saw them so I cannot be sure if my notes are correct or not.
