Post subject:  Descendants of Philip Bennett who married Emma/Amy Antle

My mother’s Bennett family has been traced back to Hampshire and before that Dorset. My branch immigrated to Virginia or North Carolina in the 1600s, another branch immigrated to Ontario in the 1850s, two other branches immigrated to New Zealand one in the 19th Century and one in the 20th Century. Connecting these branches has been possible with both traditional genealogical research augmented by y-DNA testing which only identifies a male’s paternal line.

Recently, we have gained y-DNA evidence that at least some of the Newfoundland Bennett families who came from Dorset are also our genetic cousins. We believe the descendants of Philip Bennett who married Enna Amy Antle in particular are likely our genetic cousins.

To explore that possibility my fellow Bennett researchers and I would like offer a free y-DNA test to any male Bennett ancestor of that line who can prove a pedigree back to the aforesaid Philip Bennett.

I would a glad to answer any questions if you contact me at LeightonTu@verizon.net

Kind regards,
Leighton Turner
