This is what I know. I'd lke to know more about the (Adey) Howell sisters and what happened to their mother Amelia (Bright) Adey.
Martin Adey m. Amelia Bright in 28 Oct 1851 in Victoria Village.
They lived in Hants Harbor, and had 7 children.
Rachel, Caroline, Jane (called Chrissy), William Edward, Samuel, Ann (called Bessie) and Rueben (born after his father's death in 1867.
5 ch were raised by other families.
In the 1860’s, Heart’s Content was in the process of becoming the western terminus of the trans-atlantic cable. After her husband’s death, Amelia took Caroline (age 13) and Chrissy (age 12) with her to this community, where she found work at the mess houses and dormitories built for the workers.
Sir Charles Tilston Bright was the chief engineer of the project in 1858. I’m not sure how he’s related. Was Amelia related to him?
Caroline m.Albert Howell.
Chrissy m. John Howell.
Amelia d. 1908 Hants Harbor
