Hi, I have just found out my husband's GGM, Elizabeth Brown Wiltshire was born in Trinity, Newfoundland and I have having trouble confirming information about her family in Trinity. I have found several pieces of information on this site and am just looking for cross reference information to confirm the links. Here is what I know & need help with:

Elizabeth Brown Wiltshire born 2nd Sep 1831 to William and Mary Wiltshire. Father listed as Schooner Master (presumably linked to the cod trade)
Her brother, William George Wiltshire born 12 Nov 1829 to William and Mary Wiltshire. Father listed as Planter

I can't find evidence of Elizabeth leaving Newfoundland, nor arriving in UK but she does appear in England and marries Albin James Hatcher on 21 May 1860 at Christchurch, Hampshire. She then stays in England and has at least 5 children, appearing on each UK census from 1861 to 1901 where it shows she came from Newfoundland.

There is a will for William Wiltshire in 1913 showing him leaving everything to his son Ezra, but I cannot be sure that this is the father or son or even the same family. Ezra has not shown up before either.

There is a William G Wiltshire marrying Susannah Legge in Dec 1883 but I don't think this is William George as he would be about 54 years old (unless second marriage?). The witness to this is John Crocker and it is a possibility that Mary Wiltshire's maiden name was Crocker.

In the Lower Island Cove cemetery, it shows burials for William Wiltshire Junior Sept 24, 1848, aged 19 and William Wiltshire, Dec 14, 1854, aged 62. Could this be William and William George. The age for William George is appropriate but I dont have any information on William Seniors age/birth year. It is not in Trinity - did the fisherman travel to other areas? How can I be sure that these are the Williams I am looking for?

There is a record of William and Mary Wiltshire giving birth to Mary in 1796. I dont think this could be my William and Mary Wiltshire as there is about a 35 year gap between children (not impossible, but highly unlikely) Could this be a further generation back?

Also three more children of William and Mary Wiltshire baptised in 1801, one of which is William Wiltshire. Could this be my first William Wiltshire's birth record?

If someone could please help me with confirming which William Wiltshire's are mine, who of any died in Newfoundland, is there evidence of Elizabeth Brown Wiltshire (or anyone else in her family) leaving for UK? Is there evidence of the Wiltshire's arriving in Newfoundland originally? Is there Census records for that time? Is there any descendants who still live in Newfoundland who may have more information?

If someone is able to help me please that would be most appreciated.

Thank you,
Kelly from Australia :D
