I would like to learn how and where I can order a couple of copies of marriages. I specifically hope to get copies of the original parish/church records.

The first one I need is from Carbonear United Church; 1815. I'm pretty sure the record exists, as a user of this board graciously gave me the info included, verbatim.

The other record is from Twillingate C of E; Mission of Exploits, 1859.

Again, I am interested in copies of the originals. I already have the transcriptions done in the 1940s, which are on familysearch.org.

Thanks for any info!

Steve

Do I have to visit in person? Milt, could you tell me how you got your copy of Sam Baker & Jane Pelley's marriage?

Steve, I obtained the handwritten Baker records several years ago, at PANL and/or the United Church Archives, St. John's. At that time I extracted most or all of the associated Baker entries.

I could revisit these archival records again, but I am presently out of province for a while.

Thank you! Thing is, I am looking for pre-1891 church records.

Thanks Alice! I think that's what I'm looking for.
