I have researched to death the Lakes from Oderin. My Lakes originate with Joseph Lake born 1855 on Oderin, married to Anastatia Walsh 1859 also from Oderin. His father was James, birth place unknown, wife unknown. I would like to find out where James and his wife may have come from. Supposedly, the other Lakes from Oderin (lived on the beeches) were not related to my Lakes according to my father (Cecil Lake - b. 1912) who passed many years ago. They lived up at the entrance of the harbour. I would like to know if there is an connection there between these families and the Lakes from St. Lawrence which were of the same religious faith (RC). I have the complete file on those Lakes from another source but I cannot find a linkage. Does anyone know if there is one?? |

Since you've done a lot of research, you probably already know this, but just in case.... There is a Facebook group called, "Oderin....Looking Back" and folks, including Lakes, occasionally post reminiscences and remembrances of old Oderin. If you haven't seen it, take a look. Cameron Chandler |
