The marriage record for their son John in Ontario indicates his mother's maiden name was Mitchell.

The Church of England records for Rose Blanche (very near Port Aux Basques) show a Harriett Mitchell (19 years old) receiving her first communion on September 1, 1882.
May be relevant - may not be.
