Post subject:  Healy/Healey in Holyrood

I'm searching for any information on my 2x great grandmother. Her name was Sarah Healey and she was from Holyrood. She married John Joseph Critch from Gaskiers. I believe she was born ca 1850-1855. Is anyone else researching Healey's in Holyrood? Any information on parents/siblings would be appreciated!

I've got a Mary Ann Healy, (born mid 1880's) who married Bartholomew Joseph Dunphy. I don't know anything about her though...

finally made it to the Rooms and it appears as though the baptism records for Holyrood start in 1857 which is too late for Sarah (double checked and she isn't in there). I also looked in the Harbour Grace records as records prior to 1857 were taken there. Unfortunately it seems there is a gap in the records. Baptisms in Harbour Grace end at 1845 and pick up again in 1866. Does anyone know why there would be such a long gap in records?

Sarah Healey was likely baptized by the priest in Brigus. Unfortunately the Brigus records were burned in 1935. All is not lost though. Using the records from the Registry of Deeds and probate records you can usually bridge the gap in the parish records.

Through DNA matching with 2 cousins i've discovered that Sarah Healey was born ca 1855 in Holyrood to Patrick Healey and Jane Dwyer :D
