Newfoundland's Grand Banks Message Board

Bowrings had two boats named Prosporo. The first one was lost at sea on April 15th, 1861 off St. Pierre et Miquelon. According to Lloyds of London there were four survivors. My great grandfather, Charles Williams from Oakfield, Isle of Wight was a passenger and was not one of the survivors. Would appreciate any information on the Prosporo and its sinking and other related facts.
