Hannah Ellis married John Pike Oct 19, 1906. Witnesses were Charlotte Ellis & Ernest Ellis. Hannah was originally from George's Brook, Trinity Bay. Can anyone tell me where their marriage took place, and where they were living at the time?
John had been married before and had children with his first wife. Did he and Hannah also have children?
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Hi Bonivistagirl, we are probably distant relatives. My Great Grandfather has a sister Hannah Ellis born April 16th 1877. His name was William James Ellis he was born Oct 18th 1860. They were the children of Charles Ellis and Caroline Short. They had a total of ten Children.one of their siblings was Charlotte, maybe this was their witness. They also had a Grandmother named Charlotte Ellis. They originated from Scilly cove now Winterton, also some of the children were born in Hant's Harbour, last they moved to George's Brook, where a lot of my relatives are now Thank you Deer Lake Girl

Hi Deer Lake Girl,
Nice to hear from you. Charlotte Ellis, sister of Wm. James, is my grandmother. Does anyone in George's Brook know where Hannah and John Pike were married? Thanks so much! Hope to hear from you again soon. bonavistagirl

John and Hannah's marriage is found in the records of the Shoal Harbour Methodist Church. It took place in the parsonage at Shoal Harbour on October 19, 1906. John is described as being age 36, widower, fisherman, Methodist and residing at Goose Bay. He left his mark. Hannah is described as being 29, spinster, resident at George's Brook and she signed her name as Anna Ellis but the minister wrote Hannah. Witnesses were Ernest Ellis, my grandfather and nephew to Hannah and Charlotte Ellis. John had children from his first marriage to Elizabeth Greening but I have never found record of any children with Hannah. Hope this helps in your quest...
