Looking for information on Roach family from St. Johns, parents' names not known, but with three daughters, Honora (b. c. 1848), Lucy (b. Dec. 1853), and Mary? (b. ?). At least former two went to Boston, MA area in 1860s or 1870s. Also looking for info on Lucy's husband, Patrick J. Power, b. Dec. 1850, St. Johns, went to Boston, MA area 1868. Update: Lucy Roche/Roach, b. 1853, from Branch. Patrick John Power, b. 14 Dec 1850, also probably born in Branch. Death certificate in Arlington, MA lists John Power and Mary Hagerty as parents of PJP. PJP indentured as blacksmith to a John Power in St. John's in 1864. A John Power, blacksmith, listed in St. John's 1864-1865 at 152 Water St. Info on John and Mary as parents/adoptive parents/sponsors would be very welcome, as well as info on PJP ancestry in Branch. |

Update re older generation of Power: Looking for John Power, blacksmith from St. John's (or John Power, fisherman from Branch), adult in Newfoundland during 1840s, 1850s, and 1860s, married to Mary Hagerty and/or Hannah Delaney, with sons/nephews Francis J., John, and Patrick John, and possibly daughters/nieces Ellen, Frances, and maybe Emma. Several offspring emigrated to Boston area, temporarily or permanently, in 1860s and 1870s. Thanks. Tom DeVries |
