With many of the birth records from 1870-1879 missing because of a shipwreck, can anyone advise me as to how I would be able to get some sort of record for the birth of Agnes Carter, born 1875, and Dominic Young, born 1870 in Cape Ray?
I have not been able to bust through the wall of no information for these two people, and this could be the possible reason.
Agnes Carter-Young-Button lived in the Channell until at least 1945, she was noted in the 1945 census. There must be someone who knows something.
I appreciate any help. Thanks.

The missing information is for the Burgeo C of E, Cape Ray information would more than likely be in the Channel C of E Records. As far as I know they are not on the internet, the PANL (Public Archives of Newfoundland) has microfilms and I have been told that the Corner Brook Library has copies. The PANL will search the records, at $22.60 per item (Baptism, Marriage, Death) or you can hire a researcher (two I contacted charged $20.00 hr) to find your information

Thank you for the information. I wonder would The Rooms have the same information as PANL? I guess I will have to check that out.

Oh, thank you for that information. I was under the impression that PANL was something different from the Rooms, and was a special society that had a bunch of information that no body else had.
