Looking for parents etc. of Greta Mathilda Day...Burin Peninsula. I know that they both died in a car accident in the early 1930's but have no other info.

Hi. I am also researching Day's in the Carbonear area. The name Greta Day appears on the 1948 NF List of Electors and she is listed as living in Carbonear South. she is on the same list as my great grand parents Samuel and Margaret Day. Not sure if there is a connection....but maybe.

George and Elizabeth are the first names. Possibly Garnish area.

I too am looking for Day family and wondered if we are seeking the same family.

My Great Grandmother was Mary Day born approx 1849 in Harbour Le Cou Newfoundland. This is all we know. She married Albert Smith(Wales). Albert returned to Denbeigh Wales with Mary and a daughter Jane. Mary was supposed to be of Indian decent.

Possibly. I have found George Day in the 1921 census for Garnish. He was my grandfather but died long before I was born. Next step would be to find his parents and possible family connection.

I married into a Day family, but not from anyone connected with the Newfoundland Days.
I am unable to help with anyone searching this name.
